A MAN AND A WOMAN Dives into Forbidden Love
JEON Do-yeon and GONG Yoo will fall into a forbidden love in director LEE Yoon-ki’s A Man and a Woman, which started shooting on November 19th in snow-covered Finland.
JEON is playing the lead female character ‘Sang-min’ while GONG will appear as ‘Ki-hong’. It’s their first project together although both actors have worked the same film industry for some time. The film is raising curiosity as rumors have it that it will contain some revealing scenes.
With many notable works under her belt, JEON has shown outstanding performances throughout her acting career including Happy End (1999), You Are My Sunshine (2005), the award winning Secret Sunshine (2007) and her previous work with LEE Yoon-ki, My Dear Enemy (2008). Recently, she has been trying new roles outside of melodramas including the thriller Countdown (2011) and the upcoming period action Memories of the Sword, but A Man and a Woman will bring her back to the melodrama genre.
GONG Yoo broke many hearts through his charming character in the TV series Coffee Prince (2007) and has become a staple romantic lead in the Korean entertainment industry. Recently he has been taking serious roles such as Silenced (2011) and the action-filled The Suspect (2013) and just like JEON, A Man and a Woman will mark his return to the melodrama genre.
A Man and a Woman is director LEE Yoon-ki’s return after a four year absence, his last film being Come Rain, Come Shine (2011). A Man and a Woman is scheduled for a 2015 release.
