Thriller Debut from Mise-en-scene Awards Winner Wraps Filming

Actors KIM Sang-kyung, KIM Gang-woo and KIM Hee-ae wrapped three months of production for the incoming thriller Lost Night (working title) on August 31st. The project marks the feature debut of director LEE Chang-hee.

Lost Night concerns a woman’s body that goes missing in the National Institute of Scientific Investigation. KIM Sang-kyung will place a detective, following similar roles in films such as BONG Joon-ho’s Memories Of Murder (2003), Montage (2013) and The Deal (2015). He will be on screens again next month in the military thriller The Discloser, which debuted at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan) this summer.

Meanwhile KIM Gang-woo, known from The Taste of Money (2012) and The Treacherous (2015), and KIM Hee-ae, last seen on the big screen in Thread of Lies (2014) and C’est Si Bon (2015), play a married couple in the film.

Director LEE made the shorts Pure Heart Movie (2005) and Friend’s Home (2007) before taking part in the directing department of sci-fi action Haunters (2010). He then went on to win the Best Film award with his short The Hideout at the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival in 2011. The festival has previously launched the careers of several major directors, including NA Hong-jin (THE WAILING).

The film is being produced by Sidus Corporation, the outfit behind Tazza: The High Rollers (2006) and Tazza-The Hidden Card (2014), among many others, while KIDARI ENT, which recently released The Tooth and the Nail, will distribute.
