Yoon-a Joins Hyun-bin on COOPERATION

Girls Generation Singer Boards New Action Film
 
 
Popular K-pop star Yoon-a, a member of the group Girls' Generation, has landed a leading role in the North Korea-themed action-thriller Cooperation opposite Hyun-bin. From director KIM Sung-hoon, who previously made the inspiration musical drama A Wonderful Moment (2013), and producer JK YOUN, who helmed the hits Haeundae (2009) and Ode to My Father (2014), the film will detail a joint investigation mounted by South and North Korea.
 
Already well known for her work on Korean drama shows, which include Cinderella Man (2009), Love Rain (2012) and Prime Minister & I (2013) and have netted her prizes from the Paeksang Arts Awards and KBS Drama Awards, Yoon-a took on her first film role last year, in the China-Korea co-production Goodbye Ani, which is currently awaiting release.
 
Hyun-bin, who is playing the role of a North Korean detective, recently returned from military service to deliver the hit period film The Fatal Encounter last year. He is also known for indie dramas such as KIM Tae-yong’s Late Autumn (2011) and LEE Yoon-ki’s Come Rain, Come Shine (2011) and his extensive work on television.
 
Joining the leads on screen will be YOO Hae-jin, playing a detective from South Korea, who is having a big year with major roles in hits such as RYOO Seung-wan’s Veteran and KWAK Kyung-taek’s The Classified File, as well as The Unfair and FATAL INTUITION.
 
Cooperation is expected to go before cameras in early 2016 for a planned released later in the year.
