HAN Jae-young, born in 1978, is an actor who has long been typecast as a gangster (for more than 20 years), which limited him to minor roles. Determined to become an actor after his high school literature teacher introduced him to a friend who was giving acting classes, he entered Dongshin University, in South Jeolla Province. Upon graduation, he moved to Seoul and joined a theater company, with which he made his stage debut in 2001. He made his first foray into the big screen in 2003, with minor roles in <Lost In The South Mission: Going Home> and <Spirit Of Jeet Keun Do – Once Upon A Time In high School>. It wasn’t until 2007 that he landed a bigger role, in thriller <The Devil’s Game> (2007). He then raised his profile by sharing the screen with LEE Min-ho in crime drama film <Gangnam Blues> (2014), and was eventually brought to the attention of the public thanks to his stellar performance in smash hit crime-comedy <A Violent Prosecutor> (2015). After more than a decade working in films, he was offered his first lead main role in <New Trial> (2016).
