born in 1956 in Kyungnam Kimhae. LEE studied at the Graduate School of Hankook Theological University. He made his first short film For Rosa in 1993 and his next short film, De-Pure Land (1996) was shown at the 1st Pusan International Film Festival. He made his feature debut with Yellow Flower (1998), which was screened at the 3rd PIFF. His other works include A Sudden Crash of Thunder (1999), A Story about Her (2000), and Thank You (2003).
