He became active on the small screen in 2008, when he featured in the film <A Cheonggyecheon Dog>. Sticking with indie feature fare, which afforded him a wealth of different and challenging roles, LEE was still a teenager when he starred in <Members of a Funeral> (2009) and <One Night Stand>. He played a leading role in the youth drama <U.F.O.>, which debuted at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and suddenly drew great acclaim and much notice through his convincing turn as a taciturn youth in the road drama <Shuttlecock>, which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in 2013. This role earned him the Independent Star Award from the Seoul Independent Film Festival and the Best New Actor prize from the Buil Film Awards. 2014 proved to be his breakout year, as he featured in a leading role alongside JUNG Jae-young and LEE Sung-min in the revenge thriller <Broken> and also began to appear in numerous big TV dramas.
