LEE Ki-woo, born in 1981, first worked part-time as a model and appeared in a music video for the boy band Noel in 2002, when, at the age of 22, he was selected by a film planning agency and offered an audition for KWAK Jae-young’s next project. This opportunity was timely as it came just when he had decided on a whim to try his luck at an acting career. After four auditions, he was finally cast in <The Classic> (2003), playing the man to whom the protagonist’s mother (SON Ye-jin) was promised as a bride. As he quickly rose as one of the prominent heartthrobs in Korea’s showbusiness, he was particularly active in the 2010s, appearing in comedies such as <He was cool> (2004) and <Spin Kick> (2004) as well as in dramas like <Sad Movie> (2005) and <Lost in Love> (2006). He also dabbled in less mainstream fare through his collaboration with HONG Sang-soo in <Tale of Cinema> (2005) and <Woman On The Beach> (2006). Although his big screen appearances have become rare, he is still a steady presence in television, where he is best known for his roles in <A Love to Kill> (2005), <Cool Guys, Hot Ramen> (2011), <Miss Korea> (2013-2014), <The Lady in Dignity> (2017) and <Fates & Furies> (2018-2019).
