Born in 1964, WOO Hyun started as a theatrical producer in 1988 but it wasn’t until ten years later that he first appeared on the stage, in a production of <Run for Your Wife> (1998), along with his friend AN Nae-sang whom he first met in Theology College. WOO debuted in cinema with a bit role in the comedy <The First Amendment> (2003). His supporting role of a rookie gangster in <To Catch A Virgin Ghost> (2004) got him noticed by the public and helped him land one of the supporting roles in popular sitcom <Old Miss Diary> (2004-2005) as well as the melodrama <All For Love> (2005). Because of his facial features, he has often been cast for characters much older than him. He could be seen in the 2005 royal court drama <King And The Clown> (2005) as well as in the film adaptation of <Old Miss Diary> (2006). His role as the Director General of the National Police in historical film <1987: When the Day Comes> (2018) was particularly meaningful to him as he actually took part in the student protests depicted in the film. He was last seen in another historical drama film, <MAL·MO·E: The Secret Mission> (2018).
