Born in 1979, Song Changeui knew that he would be an actor after discovering the stage musical <Les Misérables>. He entered the Seoul Institute of the Arts in Drama, and in 2002 he had his first experience performing on stage in the musical <Blue Saigon>. After a participation in <Jesus Christ Superstar>, he made his film debut with a bit role in the comedy <Emergency Measure 19> (2002). He landed his first leading role in the movie <My Girl and I> (2005). After a small role in the drama series <Wedding> (2005), Song Changeui starred in the film <Once Upon A Time In Seoul> (2006).
In 2010, he caused a stir by taking on the role of the homosexual Yang Taeseop in the drama <Life is Beautiful>, which elevated him to stardom. Following the series, he went back to the stage and performed in the musical <The Sorrows of Young Werther>. Later, he was cast in the drama series <You’ve Fallen for Me> and the melodrama film <A Reason to Live> (2011). In 2012, he appeared in the JTBC medical drama <Syndrome> with Han Hyejin. After spending the rest of the decade away from the big screen, focusing instead on his musical career, Song returned in cinemas in 2020 with the Christian-themed historical drama film <BEYOND THE MOUNTAIN> (2019). In 2021, he starred in the thriller <The Recon> (2021).
