Actors KO Doo-shim and JI Hyun-woo will appear in the upcoming Jeju-set drama Shining Moment (translated title). SO Joon-moon will mark his feature directing debut with a story that focuses on the island’s famed ‘Haenyeo’, women divers who trawl the sea bed for shellfish.
KO has signed on to appear as Jin-ok, a legendary Haenyeo on the island, while JI Hyun-woo will play documentary producer Kyung-hoon, who visits the island from Seoul to film her story.
Veteran star KO, who happens to be from Jeju Island, was recently seen in the smash hit disaster comedy EXIT (2019) last summer and the end of year comedy START-UP (2019). JI recently appeared in the black comedy-thriller TRUE FICTION (2018).

Filming began on Jeju Island in May and is scheduled to run until June. Shining Moment was selected to received support from the Korean Film Council in 2019 and also received a Grand Prize in a screenplay contest for works looking to revitalize the image of Jeju in a competition last year.
