MOON So-ri, LEE Yoo-young and More Join SF8 Anthology Series

MIN Kyu-dong, ROH Deck and JANG Cheol-soo among Directors for DGK, Wavve MBC Project

Top film directors and stars have assembled for sci-fi anthology series SF8. The eight-part limited series is a joint project between the Directors Guild of Korea and the streaming platform Wavve and will begin airing on broadcast network MBC in August of this year.

Among the big names in front of the camera are MOON So-ri (Juror 8, 2019), LEE Yoo-young (I Am Home, 2019), LEE Dong-hwi (My First Client, 2019) and LEE Si-young (How to Use Guys with Secret Tips, 2013), while major directors taking part include ROH Deok (Very Ordinary Couple, 2013), JANG Cheol-soo (Secretly Greatly, 2013) and MIN Kyu-dong (Herstory, 2018), who is also serving as the creative director of the whole series, which is being produced by his banner Soo Films.

MOON So-ri will appear in ‘Human Nature’, from After My Death (2018) director KIM Ui-seok, LEE Dong-hwi and LEE Yeon-hee (Detective K : Secret of the Lost Island, 2015) will feature in ROH Deok’s ‘Female Shaman’, LEE Yoo-young and YE Soo-jung (Herstory, 2018) will headline MIN Kyu-dong’s ‘Nursing’, and singer Hani of the K-pop outfit EXID will lead JANG Cheol-soo’s White Crow. Other segments will include ‘You Can’t Love in a Week’, from Alice in Earnestland (2015) director AHN Gooc-jin, ‘Astronaut Joanne’, from TV director LEE Yoon-jung, ‘Augmented Bean Pod’, from A Wedding Invitation (2013) director OH Ki-hwan, and ‘Blink’ from Our Body (2019) director HAN Ka-ram will star LEE Si-young.

Broadcast episodes will be approximately 40 minutes in length while director’s cut versions will be made available online on Wavve. Subject matters will be diverse, touching on artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, robots, games, fantasy, horror, superpowers and disasters.
