Providing the Experience of Being the Protagonists of a Martial Arts Fantasy

Korea’s VFX company Dexter Studios will make another step forward in the Chinese theme park industry. “We have signed a contract with China’s Evergrande Group to provide USD 5.8 million worth of content to a theme park located on the southern Chinese island of Hainan. The park will be run by Evergrande Group, one of the largest real estate groups in China.” Dexter Studios said in a new release on April 10th.

In 2017, Dexter Studios signed contracts with the Wanda Group to provide content to theme parks in Guangzhou and Wuxi. This year, the VFX company widened its Chinese presence to the Evergrande Group. According to Dexter Studios, their theme park-related sales have reached USD 17 million, including this contract with Evergrande Group.

Evergrande Group is involved in the construction of the Ocean Flower Island, an artificial archipelago in Danzhou, Hainan. “We will direct all the process of the concept based on the Chinese martial arts fantasy TV series Legend of Zu Mountain (2016) for this project.” the company said. “We will create a combination of visual media, sound effects, various special effects and virtual reality platforms so that the audience, on board of a vessel-shaped ride, can feel as if they were the protagonists of a martial arts fantasy while meeting many monsters.”
