LEE Beom-su also Joins Korean War Film Cast

Following the announcement that global star Liam Neeson would be appearing as General Douglas MacArthur in the Korean War film Operation Chromite, local stars LEE Jung-jae and LEE Beom-su have confirmed their participation following rumors that began circulating in August. The LEEs previously worked together on City of The Rising Sun (1999) and Oh! Brothers (2003).

Assassination star LEE Jung-jae will play a South Korean navy lieutenant whose role was central to changing the tide of the Korean War, while LEE Beom-su of last summer’s The Divine Move will feature as an elite Soviet-trained North Korean officer. The film will chronicle the Battle of Incheon, which was codenamed “Operation Chromite”, during which a United Nations military operation led by General MacArthur led to a change in the outcome of the Korean War. Operation Chromite will also depict the “X-ray Operation” and the “Palmido Intelligence Operation” which led up to the decisive conflict.

Handling the reigns for the KRW 15 billion (USD 13 million) production will be LEE, John H. while scripting is being handled by LEE Man-hee, both of whom worked on the 2010 Korean War film 71-Into The Fire and a romantic drama Sayonara Itsuka (2010).
