Miss A's MENG Jia Finished Filming UNDERCOVER PUNCH AND GUN

The Movie Will Be Released in Greater China, Singapore and Malaysia

K-pop girl band Miss A's Chinese member MENG Jia has been cast for a Chinese-language film Undercover Punch and Gun (Qian-Long-Ju-Ji•潛龍狙擊) and joined the recent trend of the Korean entertainment industry, where Korean talents have rushed to expand their career realm to the Greater Chinese market. Earlier, My New Sassy Girl, a Korea-China co-production and a sequel to a hit Korean film My Sassy Girl, starred another K-pop girl group F(x)'s Chinese member Victoria.

Undercover Punch and Gun is about undercover police infiltrating a drug smuggling organization. USA-born Taiwanese actor Van Ness WU, Hong Kong actors Philip NG and Andy ON are playing the lead roles.

Jia is known to play a female sniper named Phatom. Phatom is the drug smuggling organization boss' girlfriend. She plays a woman who endures the pain of betrayal and shows unconditional love for her betraying boyfriend.

Written by Frankie TAM and directed by Philip LUI Koon-Nam, the film has finished production in early August and the team had a press conference for the movie on 8 July.

"I didn't have much chance to act with the fellow actors, but I watched them acting and thought they were excellent as they have spent years acting. I could learn a lot from them," said Jia at an interview with a Chinese media.

Undercover Punch and Gun will be first released in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Jia debuted as a member of K-pop idol group Miss A in 2010, and has released a few studio albums that include: A Class, Hush and Colors. She recently also expanded her career to acting, playing in a Chinese drama named One and a Half Summer with another K-pop idol group 2PM's Nichkhun, and a Korea-China co-production film Third Love with SONG Seung-heon and Chinese actress YU Yifei.
