Korea's New Film Commission Launches in Chungnam

Eleventh regional film commission to be in action in Korea
 
 
Aiming to promote the film and drama shootings in southern Chungnam province, Chungnam Film Commission was newly launched on 27 July. The launching ceremony was held with actor AHN Sung-ki (Unbowed), filmmaker LEE Joon-ik (Hope) and some 100 industry guests in attendance.
 
KIM In-soo, the former managing director of the Korean Film Council, has been appointed to head the new film commission with deputy director KIM Tae-won, who produced hit dramas Jumong, Queen Sundeok and Dream High.
 
The board members include filmmakers YANG Woo-suk (The Attorney), PANG Eun-jin (Way Back Home), HAN Ji-seung (MAD SAD BAD), producer CHOI Jae-won (The Attorney) and a few more industry professionals from academic and business background.
 
This year, Chungnam Film Commission will invest a total of 240 million KRW (0.2 million USD) to promote the province’s locations, to launch a location information database and a website, and to support independent productions.
