Digitally Remastered THE MOON IS… THE SUN’S DREAM Released for Public

PARK Chan-wook’s feature debut, The Moon Is… the Sun‘s Dream (1992) was released for the first time on IPTV, digital cable, online and mobile channels on the 24th of April. The film was digitally remastered in order to meet audiences twenty-two years after it was first released.

The Moon Is... the Sun‘s Dream (1992) is a noir action romance about a mobster‘s betrayal and revenge as he falls in love with his boss’ mistress. Even though the film has been well known for being the first revenge film by director PARK, ahead of his ‘vengeance trilogy’ with Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), Oldboy (2003) and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005), not to mention the debut that made PARK who he is today, there had been no way to watch it for a long time. Thus curiosity has ramped up among fans who haven’t had the opportunity to see it.

The film was released digitally in a HD remastered format, and gives insight into the mind of a 29-year-old PARK Chan-wook. It features early 90s sentiments but remains relevant today. The film starred singer LEE Seung-chul, NA Hyun-hee, SONG Seung-hwan and BANG Eun-hee.
