The Witch: Part 2. The Other One is a sequel to Director Park Hoonjung’s SF action film The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion, which was released in 2018 and attracted 3.18 million viewers. The Witch: Part 2. The Other One is also the second episode of The Witch Trilogy planned by Park Hoonjung.
The Witch: Part 2. The Other One depicts a war of forces surrounding a girl with special abilities and chasing her for their own purposes. A girl (Cynthia) wakes up in a secret laboratory which was devastated. Wandering alone, she happens to meet Kyunghee (Park Eunbin) and Daegil (Sung Yubin), and experiences a warm daily life for a while with the help of the siblings. However, Jang (Lee Jongsuk), the director of the laboratory who pursues the girl to recover her with tremendous potential, and the founder (Cho Minsoo) of the ‘Witch Project,’ begin to threaten them. Even worse, Yongdu (Jin Goo), the boss of a gangster, joins the pursuit. Now, the destructive power latent in the pure-faced girl begins to awaken.
While the first episode of The Witch series was noted for the discovery of ‘New Actor Kim Dami,’ the second episode is drawing attention by the discovery of ‘New Actor Cynthia.’ The new actor Cynthia dramatically plays the process of the transformation of a girl, who barely feels the warm-heartedness of the human world after being locked up and living in a secret research center, and who reveals the destructive power as a human weapon again. The second episode serves as a stepping stone to the third one to complete The Which Trilogy. Kim Dami, the first witch, and Cynthia, the second witch, succeeded in raising expectations for the third episode where they can appear together. It makes us look forward to the final episode of Director Park Hoonjung's ‘Witch Universe.’
