Soo-hyuk, an elementary school teacher in a rural village, has been keeping a secret from everyone. Every night, his wife Yi-young turns into another person. One day, a student’s father discovers this and tells the other residents of the village. Soo-hyuk is now forced to spend her nights in a cage, only to be released in the morning. Unable to endure seeing his wife suffer, one day Soo-hyuk decides to keep her company in the cage, only for an unexpected fire to consume them both. Detective Hyung-gu visits the village and investigates the incident but after being drugged by the villagers he wakes up in the cage, and before long realizes he has turned into Soo-hyuk.
Straddling the boundary of fantasy and reality, ME AND ME is the directional debut of veteran actor JUNG Jin-young (Ode to My Father, 2014). While this marks JUNG’s first outing as a director, beyond his extensive acting credits, he previously worked alongside director LEE Chang-dong in the directing department of his 1997 debut Green Fish, which he also had a supporting role in. JUNG has assembled an impressive cast for his debut, which includes CHO Jin-woong (Believer, 2018), BAE Soo-bin (WARRIORS OF THE DAWN, 2017) and CHA Soo-yeon (The Scent, 2012).
