Opening of Festival Screening PiFan 2014 at KoBiz Online Screening on July 17th

Love, Fantasy and Adventure… the summer’s signature genre film festival, the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) is looking to kill two birds with one stone this year, by having an eccentric and unique identity but maintaining its popularity. The programs include World Fantastic Cinema with recent fantastic films, Vision Express which programs films that portray diverse visions and go beyond conventional fantastic movies, the official competition section Puchon Choice, and the Fantastic Shorts Films section with outrageously imaginative and innovative content. A variety of the programming will be available through KoBiz Online Screening.

Just like how ‘hot’ indie titles like Han Gong-ju, Lebanon Emotion and 10 Minutes were introduced through domestic film festivals, PiFan’s 2014 programming will be the perfect window to look at the latest genre films and the evolution of fantastic films. KIM Sung-moo’s unique mystery thriller The Night of the Prophet, a new type of Korean zombie film Zombie School from KIM Seok-jung, and finding new love in middle age, LEE Dong-sam’s Welcome are some features selected for the festival. As for the shorts, a sad fantasy film about a village demolition Mould by PARK Chun-kyu, a satire about plastic surgery in NOH Do-yeon’s Human Form are a few out of 47 titles. You can expect to discover new talents within PiFan shorts just like leading directors NA Hong-jin and CHANG Hoon among others who were recognized through the festival.

KoBiz Online Screening has covered and serviced selected programming for a limited time from Busan, Jeonju, Puchon and other international film festivals in Korea, and made them available for industry professionals to stream who are unable to attend in person. Representing the ‘Now and Future of Korean Cinema’, KoBiz Online Screening continues to provide unique content and services, and looks forward to servicing even more.
This year’s Festival Screening: PiFan 2014 will start along with the opening of the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival on July 17th, on the KoBiz Online Screening website.
