The main female character, Sungmi, transfers to Sunho’s school from Seoul, and she immediately draws the attention of the boys. The leader of the classroom, Changguk tries to get closer to Sungmi, but she isn’t interested. Sunja, who had been the most popular girl until Sungmi came, becomes jealous of Sungmi and begins to hate her. A math teacher gives students, including Changguk and Sungmi,a difficult math question but nobody figures it out. Chideok makes Sunho try the question on the board. Sungmi stares at Sunho with interest and their romance starts. Sungmi comes over to Sunho’s uncle’s iron works and Sunho’s uncle suggests that Sunho takes Sungmi to a place where they can see the ocean. Sungmi and Sunho take his advice. The observatory catches Sungmi’s heart and they promise to return in the future. On Sunday morning, Sungmi and Sunho have a date by a museum. A curator hands post cards to them, saying that they can get the post cards sent back to them in a year. Sungmi and Sunho write something in the sand, but then hoodlums appear and try to rob Sunho and Sungmi. Sunho gets grabbed by the collar and the fight begins. Sungmi, who is scared, turns pale and passes out. The next day, Sungmi calls in sick. Sunho visits the pharmacy of Sungmi’s father. On Sunho’s way back, Sungmi’s mom tells Sunho that he shouldn’t meet Sungmi ever again. Sungmi goes to the iron works on a rainy day with her memories of Sunho. Sungmi runs into the village woman and they go inside the iron works. Sungmi comes out of the iron works and sees soapy water flowing in the wrong direction. She stares at the melted soap and thinks. There is a crashing sound from inside and a fire starts inside the iron works. The village woman and Sungmi try to put out the fire but they inhale too much smoke. While Sunho and Changguk walk back from the quayside, they see smoke coming from the iron works and run toward it. Sunho saves the village woman and goes back for Sungmi. Sunho’s foot gets caught and he tells Sungmi to ask the people outside for help. Sungmi stumbles out and Chideok goes back inside the iron works to save Sunho. Chideok tries really hard to free Sunho’s trapped foot but a machine falls on top of them. 7 years later, Sunho reads a postcard at the observatory near the ocean. Sunho tries to put the post card in his pocket but ends up dropping it on the ground when Sungmi shows up. Sungmi stares at Sunho without recognizing him. Sunho is surprised and leaves. Sungmi sees the post card where Sunho had been. It is the post card that they wrote 7 years ago. Sungmi shivers and desperately calls after Sunho.less
