  • Con Artist Thriller to Co-Star YOO Ji-tae

According to studio Showbox, superstar Hyun-bin has signed up to take on the leading role in the upcoming project Kkun. The actor will play a con artist who only swindles other fraudsters. The role of a prosecutor seeking to take him down will be played by YOO Ji-tae.

Hyun-bin rose to stardom appearing in a series of romantic roles, such as Daddy-Long-Legs (2005), A Millionaire’s First Love (2006) and I Am Happy (2009). His most recent role was playing a Joseon Era king in the period action-thriller The Fatal Encounter (2014). The star is currently filming the North and South Korea joint investigation drama Cooperation, which is being produced by JK Film, the outfit behind Haeundae (2009), Ode to My Father (2014) and The Himalayas (2015).

Active since the late 1990s, YOO Ji-tae became known after appearing in KIM Sang-jin’s Attack The Gas Station! (1999) and later became a name on the global scene when he appeared as the villain in PARK Chan-wook’s Old Boy (2003). He is currently shooting the bowling drama Split.

Directing the project will be first time filmmaker JANG Chang-won, who has previously served as assistant director on commercial titles such as LEE Joon-ik’s The Happy Life (2007) and Battlefield Heroes (2011).

Once casting is complete, the production will go before cameras later this year.
