  • TOP STAR Directed by PARK Joong-hoon Begins Shoot

  • Big Names in Korean Film Industry Lend Support
    Actor PARK Joong-hoon, who has the reputation of being Korea's national actor, began shooting his first film as a director, Top Star on March 24th. The first shoot took place at a bar in Seoul and it shows Taeshik (played by UHM Tae-woong) beginning to change after he gets to the top of his acting career. UHM plays the character of a naive manager who has the dream of becoming an actor. His character then turns into a passionate actor and as he reaches the top star status, he begins to change.

    Prior to the first shoot, there was a well-wishing ceremony in the traditional Korean style to wish good luck during filming. Many big names from the industry attended including KIM Dong-ho, honorary festival director of the Busan International Film Festival as well as directors IM Kwon-taek, KANG Woo-suk, KANG Je-kyu and actors AHN Sung-ki and JANG Dong-gun.

    KIM Dong-ho, who has recently directed a short film Jury said, "I hope 10 million people will come and see Top Star which has been directed by a real top star." AHN Sung-ki said, "I've never seen a well-wishing ceremony for a film attended by so many people. I hope all of their support will help make a great film."
