Korean Spy Thriller Readies for International Splash

Expectations have reached fever pitch ahead of the January 31st Korean bow of RYOO Seung-wan’s latest film, the blockbuster spy thriller The Berlin File. US audiences will not have to wait long for their own chance to catch the explosive new work as distributor CJ Entertainment has announced that the film will receive a theatrical run in limited locations in North Ameirca beginning February 15th.

For his first film since 2010’s The Unjust, RYOO has returned with his most ambitious project yet, a big-budget spy thriller that was shot on location in Berlin and Eastern Europe. The Berlin File stars HA Jung-woo, JUN Ji-hyun, HAN Suk-kyu and RYOO Seung-bum as agents pitted against each other in a tale of political intrigue and personal redemption.

Locations have yet to be determined but playdates will become available on the film’s US website (www.theberlinfile.com) shortly ahead of its release. The Berlin File is expected to make a big splash when it opens in Korea next week for its combination of red-hot stars, talented action director and big set pieces.
