- Grape Candy goes to Tokyo after WarsawDirector KIM Hee-jung’s Grape Candy has been invited to the 28th Warsaw International Film Festival as well as to the competition section of the Tokyo FILMeX. Tokyo FILMeX is an event with the aim of promoting the growth of Asian independent cinema. The opening film there last year was KIM Ki-duk’s Arirang and PARK Jung-bum’s The Journals of Musan, HEO Jong-ho's Countdown as well as JUHN Jai-hong’s Poongsan were invited to the competition section. The Journals of Musan won the Jury’s Special Award and Arirang was awarded the Audience Award last year.The 14th Tokyo FILMex will open on the 23rd November and Grape Candy was a project that was selected to be Cannes Film Festival’s 10th Anniversary Residence Project. It was also the recipient of the Art Reon Award and the Audience Award at the 13th International Women’s Film Festival in Seoul. The film was also screened as part of the Bright Focus Section at the Cinema Digital Seoul Film Festival and the non-competition section at Warsaw Film Festival.
