Lotte Goes ALONG WITH THE GODS at Asian Film Market

ROOM NO.7, HEUNG-BOO and More in Busan Lineup

Along With The Gods – The Two Worlds, the first installment in an ambitious two-part fantasy series, was launched by distributor Lotte Entertainment at the Asian Film Market, that took place during this year’s 22nd Busan International Film Festival.

From hit director KIM Yong-hwa, known for 200 Pounds Beauty (2006), Take Off (2009) and Mr. Go (2013), the film is based on a popular web comic called ‘With God’ by JOO Ho-min and features a star-studded lineup that includes HA Jung-woo (Assassination, 2015), CHA Tae-hyun (My Sassy Girl, 2001), JU Ji-hoon (Asura: The City of Madness), DOH Kyung-soo (My Annoying Brother), LEE Jung-jae (The Thieves, 2012) and many more.

The story follows a deceased firefighter who is brought to heaven and must endure seven different trials in order to be reincarnated, through which he is helped by three guardians.

Lotte also presented their upcoming comedy-thriller Room No.7, which served as the opening film of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan) this summer. The film features SHIN Ha-kyun (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, 2002) and DOH again, and is the commercial debut of indie director LEE Yong-seung, whose first film 10 Minutes earned the New Currents prize at Busan in 2014.

Room No.7 is due for release in November, while the first Along with the Gods will drop on December 20, with part two to follow next summer.

Other titles in the Lotte lineup include the period drama Heung-boo: The Revolutionist, with Jung Woo (The Himalayas) and KIM Joo-hyuk (Yourself and Yours), due out early next year, and the in production titles Be With You (working title), a fantasy romance with SO Ji-sub (The Battleship Island) and SON Ye-jin (The Last Princess), and Love+Stling, a comedy-drama led by YOO Hae-jin (Luck-Key).
