Two-Part Fantasy Epic Assembles Enormous Cast
Lotte Entertainment’s two-part fantasy epic Along with the Gods brought its simultaneous production to an end after a marathon 10 month filming schedule, which included 175 shooting days, on March 22nd. Despite an earlier commitment to a summer release date, the long production process and intensive post-production demands on the CGI-heavy work have delayed the release of the first installment to December 2017.
Based on a webcomic by JU Ho-min, the story concerns a character who dies and the angel of death who escorts him to the afterworld. Once there, he goes through seven trials during of 49 days. HA Jung-woo plays the angel of death who becomes involved in human affairs even when he isn’t supposed to, and CHA Tae-hyun features as the recently departed.
The second part of Along with the Gods will follow in summer 2018. Both films are produced by Realies Pictures, behind 2012’s period smash hit Masquerade.
