LOGLINE

My wife was abducted right in front of my eyes, and the sample antidote to a mutant virus has gone missing!
I must give them the sample to save my wife.
Or she dies.
An action thriller set against the backdrop of Malaysia.

PRODUCTION INTENT

“I will never give up. I will save you.”
What if something happens to my family, and what if I have to protect my family in a foreign land? What would I be capable of doing?
These were the questions that began the planning.
A husband goes to his wife to beg for forgiveness. However, the situation becomes worse and his wife is kidnapped.
Now, the most important thing is for him to save his wife.
Through him, I wanted to depict the true hero we all dream of.
“The only way to stop the virus spreading is to commit suicide. What will your wife choose?”
<Supercop> contains both dramatic tension of abduction thrillers, and the terror of a viral outbreak in order to differentiate it from existing action movies.
The backdrop of Malaysia embodies the beauty of nature, and cultural diversity.
The story’s dramatic plot creates an ironic contrast to Malaysia’s beautiful scenery, and so Malaysia becomes more than the stage but a character in its own right.
The movie is an “emotional action thriller” in which emotional elements are combined with realistic action.
<Supercop> consists of desperation to protect one’s family, tense action, virus, and rapid story development. The movie will encapsulate viewers across Asia, and Malaysia’s exotic scenery will give the film an appeal never seen before in action thrillers.

SYNOPSIS

Chao is one of China’s toughest cops, who never loses a suspect once he is on a case.
However, his dedication to work has made him inattentive to life at home.
To his wife, he is a practically non-existent husband, and his seven-year old daughter thinks he is a liar.
His wife is a talented researcher who developed an antivirus to an epidemic animal virus.
Fed up with her negligent husband, she goes on a business trip to Malaysia leaving divorce papers for him to sign.
Their daughter believes that her mother ran away from her father.
Chao promises his daughter that he will bring back her mother, and heads to Malaysia.
However, just as Chao goes to his wife to beg for forgiveness, she is abducted right in front of him.
On his search for his wife, he finds out that the kidnappers are after the sample of the antivirus his wife developed.
The kidnappers then send Chao a video showing his wife being injected with the virus.
Chao must find the sample and hand it over if he is to save his wife. If he fails, his wife dies.
Will he stop the virus spreading and causing chaos across the city?
Or will be save his wife?
