SYNOPSIS
Woody, the talking dog, lives happily with his loving owner, and other animals including Kitty and Bear. Woody’s elderly owner traveled the world in her younger days, and learned many languages and to hypnotize animals. Under the tutelage, Woody learned to speak, and his dancing and singing skills catapult him to stardom.
Woody plans a surpriseparty for his owner’s 70th birthday, but she is killed in a tragic traffic accident, leaving her vast fortune to Woody.
However, her evil nephew Ethen wants her fortune for himself, and takes Woody to court arguing that a dog cannot inherit the wealth of a human.
After his owner’s death, Woody spends his days away from the spotlight. However, on a talk show he acts strangely, and vomits on the presenter’s face. The media turns against him, and he is sent to a shelter, where he must prove that he has human emotions if he is to claim his inheritance.
Life at the shelter is made harder by other animals that display animosity towardshim. The abandoned animals remind him of the other animals he lived with, whom he had neglected. He decides to free the animals, and plans a talent show…
Will Woody be able to overcome all the obstacles? Will he be able to go back to the life his owner wanted for him?

PROJECT PROGRESS
1) Execution in stages (Pre-production)
Since winning an award in a story competition, the project has received funding from Studio Gale, and support programs.
With the funding, scenario, trailer (English/2 minutes 40 seconds), main song in collaboration with a US musician, as weel as storybook (English/Chinese) that shows the main images and the plot, have been completed.
In addition, business consultations and global pitches have been made to increase the project’s appeal.
2) Response from overseas companies
A number of China-based companies have shown interest at major Asian markets including Hong Kong Film Mart, and Beijing Film Market. In addition, European and North American firms have shown positive responses at the European Film Market and the American Film Market.
Such positive responses confirm that the story is globally competitive.
-Production Schedule (preliminary)
1)Production
Once joint production and main investment contracts are signed, a two-year production schedule is planned.
2) Market diversification
From the beginning, the project was aimed at both local and North American markets in collaborationwith Blue Whales Pictures, the US partner.
Despite the recent downturn in Korea-China relations, Asia’s largest market cannot be abandoned, and we hope to tap into the Chinese market to lay the foundations from which to enter other Asian markets, and ultimately to produce a global animated film.
3) Marketing strategy (short term)
By applying the company’s experience in Korea’s animation market and network to global promotion campaign efforts, the probability of success in North American, and Chinese markets will be increased.
4) Marketing strategy (Mid to long term)
Spinoff TV series is planned after cinema release with the aim for creating a long-lasting global character brand such as <kung Fu Panda> and <Shrek> series.
5) Strategies for additional businesses
Plans for maximizing profits of<Millionaire Woody> throughmerchandize, TV series, theme park projects will be pursued.
