JEONG Dong-chae, ex-minister, appointed as the director of the Gwangju International Film Festival
The organizing committee of the Gwangju International Film Festival, which will start on Novermber 8th, announced that JEONG Dong-chae, a previous minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has been appointed as the festival director. JEONG Dong-chae became a member of National Assembly after working for Hapdong News Agency and has continuously served as a standing committee member.
He was also the minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2004 and the next year. JEONG said in press releases, “It has lasted as a small but fruitful film festival even in difficult conditions all by virtue of the potential of Gwangju citizens who love films. We wil make the festival as the window to communicate with audiences.” The Gwangju International Film Festival, under the theme of ‘Hope for Peace’ will take place at Megabox and other theaters around the city of Gwangju from Novermber 8th to 12th.
