KIM Dong-ho, honorary director of the BIFF wins the Cultural Award of Busan
KIM Dong-ho, the honorary director of the
Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), was confirmed to receive the Popular Art award of the 55th Busan Culture Awards on October 10th. Busan city chose 9 award winners of Busan culture awards including KIM.
Busan Culture Awards has awarded cultural and artistic figures who contributed to promotion of culture and art as well as development of local culture since its establishment in 1957. KIM founded the BIFF and worked as the festival director for 15 years to make the BIFF Asia’s best film festival.
In the mean time,
OH Seok-geun, chairman of operating committee of the
Busan Film Commission (BFC) was reelected as the chairman of the Asian Film Commissions Network (AFCNet). AFCNet, the biggest international organization for film and video in Asia, held the 3rd board of directors on October 10th and unanimously appointed OH as the operating chairman of the AFCNet.
The new board members are the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS, Malay: Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional), the Busan Film Commission (BFC), the Vladivostok Film Commission (Russia), the Royal Film Commission Jordan, the Japan Film Commission, the Cambodia Film Commission, the Taipei Film Commission (Taiwan) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
