PLANET OF SNAIL Wins Grand Prix at the Russian Int'l Festival for the Disabled

Director YI Seung-jun's documentary Planet of Snail won the Grand Prix at the 6th International Film Festival for the Disabled in Moscow, Russia on November 12th. This event, organized by the Russian Association for the Disabled, runs every two years with the first edition having opened in 2002. The themes are the life and love of the disabled. This year the event opened on November 9th and went on for four days in the center of Moscow where 150 films from 25 countries were screened.

Planet of Snail is a documentary about a husband with a hearing impairment and his wife who has a spine disability. The film won the main award in the competition section at the Amsterdam International Documentary Festival last year. Director LEE was not able to attend the festival in Moscow so the award was received in proxy by the head of the Moscow Korean Cultural Institute, Mr. YANG Min-jong.
