Sci-fi Extravaganza Expected to Hit Screens this Summer

The first official poster for BONG Joon-ho’s highly anticipated Sci-fi blockbuster Snowpiercer has been revealed. The film, from CJ Entertainment, is the highest-budgeted Korean film of all time and features a stellar international cast which includes Chris EVAN, Tilda SWINTON, SONG Kang-ho, Jonh HURT, Jamie BELL, Ed HARRIS, Octavia SPENCER and Ewen BREMNER among many more.

The film is based on a French graphic novel called ‘Le Transperceneige,’ and the official synopsis states that it is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.

In this quad poster for the film, John HURT stands above a group of lower-class inhabitants near the back of the train. Snowpiercer, which will be distributed by The Weinstein Company in the US, is expected to hit international screens this summer.
