  • Project K–The Korean Film Festival Kicks Off in Frankfurt

  • ASURA: THE CITY OF MADNESS Director KIM Sung-soo and Actor JUNG Woo-sung Attend the Event 
     

    The 5th edition of Project K-The Korean Film Festival was held from October 26th to 30th at CineStar Metropolis in Frankfurt. The festival was co-hosted by the Korean Consulate in Frankfurt and Project K, consisting of University of Frankfurt students undertaking Korean studies and other young Germans.

    The opening film was director YOON Ga-eun’s debut project, The World of Us, which was invited to the 66th Berlin International Film Festival, while Tunnel, one of the biggest hit this year, closed the festival. Besides, movies including The Handmaiden, Inside Men and The Truth Beneath were invited to the Must See section, and other films like The Last Princess, DONGJU; The Portrait of A Poet and 4th Place were screened in the Insight Korea section. The Diverse View section showed movies such as The Beauty Inside and Deer Flower. A total of 27 local films were featured during the fest. 

    In addition, director KIM Sung-soo and actor JUNG Woo-sung of Asura: The City of Madness, which was selected for the Special Focus, and festival’s closer Tunnel director KIM Seong-hun presented at the festival. Meanwhile, there were other activities like Korean traditional costumes, Hanbok trial program and K-pop dance contest for guests to enjoy.
