  • April Snow passes 1 million tickets in Japan
  • Oct 04, 2005
  • HUR Jin-ho's melodrama April Snow has passed one million admissions in Japan, and is poised to become the most successful release of a Korean film in Japan. The film, which has been widely publicized inJapan due to popular lead actor BAE Yong-joon, currently has amassed close to 2 billion yen. To date, the highest grossing Korean film to be released in Japan has been KWAK Jae-yong's Windstruck, which also earned 2 billion yen. Distributor UIP Japan anticipates that April Snow should easily pass the 3 billion yen mark. The film, which also stars actress SON Ye-jin, tells the story of a man and woman who meet when their spouses are both injured in a major car accident. Distributed and sold internationally by Show East, the film was released in Korea on September 9, where it has failed to reach the one million admissions mark.
