  • CHOI Seung-hyun Action-Drama to Screen Globally

Following its pre-sales deal to eight Asian countries, PARK Hong-soo’s Commitment is now set to be released in U.S. and Europe markets.
The feature debut film of PARK Hong-soo, the former assistant director of titles including Secret Reunion (2010), The Front Line (2011) and All About My Wife, Commitment, tells the story of the 19-year old North Korean Myung-hoon who secretly infiltrates South Korea and poses as a high school student to save his younger sister. The film stars CHOI Seung-hyun (a.k.a. T.O.P.), a member of the popular idol group ‘Big Bang,’ who also starred in 71-Into the Fire (2010) and the TV drama Iris (2010), along with HAN Ye-ri, YOON Je-moon and KIM You-jung in supporting roles.

Awaiting its domestic release on November 6th, Commitment was already sold to territories including Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia while still in production. Japan has confirmed the film’s release date as January 25th next year while Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia are scheduled to release the film in November.

Commitment will also be released in the U.S. and Europe. Well Go USA, the U.S. distributors of The Man From Nowhere (2010) and The Front Line, is scheduling the U.S. release on November 29th while Splendid Film, the European distributors of I Saw the Devil (2010), War of the Arrows (2011) and The Berlin File, is planning to release the film in German-speaking European territories early next year.
