April Snow, the new film starring pan-Asian star BAE Yong-joon, is being positioned for an Asia-wide, simultaneous release in September, according to the film's distributor Show East. The film by director HUR Jin-ho (Christmas in August, One Fine Spring Day) has been sold already to Universal Japan, Golden Scene in Hong Kong, Encore Film for Singapore and Malaysia, and Spring International for Taiwan. Deals with Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and China are described as being "very close", and there is also reportedly significant interest among European buyers. The simultaneous release strategy is being carried out partly as a response to piracy and partly to coordinate marketing strategies in all countries to maximum effect. The film, about two people who meet when their cheating spouses are involved in a car accident, started shooting on February 4 in Gangwon Province, Korea
