- The 5th Cinema Digital Seoul Film Festival to open with The Day He Arrives

The 5th Cinema Digital Seoul Film Festival (CinDi) has announced it will open with Hong Sang-soo’s <The Day He Arrives>, which screened in Cannes Un Certain Regard earlier this year.The festival will screen 98 films from 32 countries including 15 in the Asian Competition of films from up-and-coming filmmakers. CinDi traditionally has a six main awards given out by different juries. This year’s jury members include Singaporean director Eric KHOO, Korean director LEE Yoon-ki, Thai director Pen-ek RATANARUANG, and Korean actress YE Ji-WonCinDi supports budding talent from around Asia with screenings in the Competition and celebrates more mature filmmakers in section such as the Digital Restoration section which this year will screen KIM Ki-young’s <The Boxes of Death>.The event is organized primarily by festival director LEE Kwangmo, program director CHUNG Sung-ill, and program consultants Philip CHEAH, Shozo ICHIYAMA and LI Cheuk-to.This year, the official festival trailer was directed by Cannes Palme d’or winner Apichatpong Weerasethakul.CinDi will run Aug. 17 – 23 at the Apkujung CGV multiplex.
