  • Seven Korean Films to Air on US TV

  • American cable TV network, the Sundance Channel, has picked up eight Asian movies, seven of which are Korean, as part of the launch its Sunday night "Asian Extreme" program. Those selected were PARK Chan-wook's Old Boy and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, KIM Ki-duk's Samaritan Girl, KIM Ji-woon's A Tale of Two Sisters, LEE Jong-hyeok's H, AHN Byeong-ki's Phone and the jointly directed Memento Mori by KIM Tae-yong and MIN Kyu-dong. The eighth film was Japanese director TSUKAMOTO Shinya's A Snake of June.. Sundance obtained the exclusive domestic TV rights to the films from theatrical distributor Tartan USA. The "Asian Extreme" program will showcase genre films of the horror, mystery, and psychological-thriller variety. The collection is tentatively scheduled to air at midnight each Sunday starting April 2nd. Nigel D'Sa (KOFIC)
