Decision to Leave has been nominated for Best Motion Picture, Non-English Language at the 80th Golden Globe Awards, which will be held on January 10 (local time). The Golden Globe is an annual awards ceremony hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and held in Los Angeles, USA. It is considered a representative awards ceremony held in the United States along with the Academy Awards.

The Non-English Language Film section, for which Decision to Leave is nominated, has been granted to the films that caused sensations worldwide, such as Lee lsaac CHUNG’s Minari (2021), Bong Joonho's PARASITE (2020), Alfonso Cuarón's ROMA (2019), Director Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2001), Chen Kaige’s Farewell My Concubine (1994), etc. Expectations are high on whether Decision to Leave will be able to win the Non-English Language Film award following PARASITE, which was the first Korean film that won the prize in the category. 

In addition, Decision to Leave was listed 10 Best Films in 2022, selected by the New York Times, and was ranked 9th in the ‘2022 Best Film 50’ released by the British Guardian. The film was also included in the Top 10 Films in 2022 by the Hollywood Reporter on the 16th (local time). 

The Hollywood Reporter described the film as ‘On its elegant surface, Park Chanwook’s masterful romantic thriller,’ while the Guardian evaluated it by saying, “South Korean director Park Chanwook’s sensational black-widow noir romance, starring Tang Wei, keeps the viewer off-balance at every turn.” 

Decision to Leave, which won the Best Director award at the 75th Festival de Cannes was selected as South Korea's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Film Awards and is currently in the midst of an Oscar campaign for the 95th Academy Awards.
