Streamer Reveals Raft of Upcoming Korean Titles 

In the wake of their phenomenal success with Hwang Donghyuk’s original series Squid Game, which became the first Korean show to top Netflix’s global rankings, Netflix Korea has revealed its upcoming slate, including their first locally produced film, doing the recent global fan event ‘Tudum’.

Up next for the streamer will be the revenge drama My Name with Han Sohee and from director Kim Jinmin, who previously made the Netflix series Extracurricular, which debuts on October 15. Launching on November 18 will be Director Yeon Sangho’s first drama series Hellbound featuring Yoo Ahin, which has already garnered rave reviews after previewing episodes at the Toronto International Film Festival. Closing out the year will be the ambitious moon-set SF drama The Silent Sea with Gong Yoo and Bae Doona, which is produced by actor Jung Woosung.

The streamer will kick off the year with the zombie series All of Us Are Dead and the legal drama Juvenile Justice with Kim Hyesoo, which will both bow in January. In February, Netflix will launch its first-ever originally produced Korean film, Director Park Hyunjin’s romance film Love and Leashes, while several other films are already in production. In addition to dramas and movies, Netflix also announced a number of Korean variety programs that populate its lineup over the coming months.

Netflix Korea, which debuted its original programming with Kingdom in 2019, has been responsible for shows such as Love Alarm, Extracurricular, The School Nurse Files, Move to Heaven, D.P. and most recently Squid Game.
