LEE Sung-min and
YU Jae-myeong have signed on to star in
Beast (working title), a new project that will be financed and distributed by
Next Entertainment World (NEW). Handling the directing reins will be
LEE Jeong-ho. The film will tell the story of two detectives who clash head on as they try to solve a major murder case.
One of Korea’s most popular character actors,
LEE Sung-min is coming off a very strong summer that saw him headline both
YOON Jong-bin’s Cannes-invited espionage drama
The Spy Gone North as well as the thriller
The Witness. LEE has signed on to play JEONG Han-su, who takes a big gamble in his attempts to catch a murderer.
An increasingly visible presence on Korea’s screens,
YU Jae-myeong will play JEONG Han-su’s rival detective, who follows the letter of the law. YU was recently seen in the Chuseok period drama
FENGSHUI, as well as the hit small screen series
Life and Stranger.
Beast is scheduled to go before cameras in November and will be brought to screens at some point in 2019 by NEW subsidiary Studio&NEW, which was responsible for the recent siege action hit
The Great Battle.
