  • ALONG WITH THE GODS to Be Remade as A VR Ride Film
  • by KIM Su-bin /  May 17, 2018
  • A Virtual-Reality Immersive Experience

Web comic Along With The God will have its VR version, following its film and TV series adaptations. Based on the second-most-viewed movie in Korea, with a total of 14.41 million admissions in the local box office, Along With The Gods VR will be a film made specifically for VR rides. The production team of Along With The Gods VR will recreate the Seven Hells and other locales of the afterlife and retell the story in VR. Along With The Gods VR will invite audiences to an immersive experience made possible by virtual reality with the help of motion chairs.

This VR project is supervised by KIM Yong-hwa, director of Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (2017) and CEO of Dexter Studios, while directed by JongHyen Jin, VFX supervisor on the original feature. In addition, BANG Jun-seok will reprise his role as music director. The original production staff is teaming up again for this VR project. This VR content production will surely pique the interest of the audience as the original movie had a high attendance in all of his various formats such as 4D.

Realies Pictures has announced that they are pre-producing a TV series adaptation of the original web comic. They are planning to write the script this year and will begin to shoot next year. Prior to this, Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days is set to release later this year. The sequel will reveal the past of the Grim Reaper and the three guardians seen in the first movie and introduce a new character, God of House, who helps people in the living world.
