2nd Samsung Cinema LED Screen to Launch in Beijing in First Half of 2018
The Samsung Cinema Led Screen has landed in China. “On February 4th, Samsung Electronics and our partner Wanda Cinemas, the world’s largest theater operator, celebrated the launching of the Cinema LED Screen in Wanda’s Wujiaochang theater, located in Shanghai’s Yangpu District. This is the third implementation of Samsung’s Cinema LED Screen abroad, followed by Thailand and Switzerland.” Samsung Electronics announced.
The Samsung Cinema LED Screen produces images using LEDs for huge screens, unlike legacy projector-based operations. The LED screen in Shanghai measures 10.3m by 4.5m with a 4K resolution (4,096×2,160) and HDR (high dynamic range) display. Its peak brightness level is nearly 10 times greater than that of typical cinema standards. Additionally, it can deliver a filmmaker’s intention better by minimizing color distortion. Moreover, the audio equipment is provided and fine-tuned by the experts at Harman’s subsidiary company, JBL. Meanwhile, Wanda revealed its plan to convert a second cinema in Beijing during the first half of this year. Wanda Cinema Line is the world’s largest cinema chain, operating 14,347 screens at 1,352 theaters all over the world and accounting for more than 12% of the global box office.
