Filmmakers from UNESCO City of Film will Co-product
For the first time this year, UNESCO starts its film production project in Busan, one of the creative cities. UNESCO 2017 Film Production Residency in Busan is a program to provide opportunities to produce short films for filmmakers from UNESCO City of Film in collaboration with other participants over three weeks while staying in Busan; Sofia (Bulgaria), Galway (Ireland), Bradford (UK), Sydney (Australia), Santos (Brazil), Rome (Italy) and Bitola (Macedonia). It will be a forum to foster exchange and strong bonds among filmmakers at home and abroad.
UNESCO 2017 Film Production Residency in Busan is funded by Busan city government and joined by Busan Independent Film Association (BIFA). Co-CEO of BIFA,
CHOI Yong-suk said that “The brand value of Busan cinema is expected to rise through exchange among Busan and other cities.” The residency program will continue for 18 days from April 24th to May 11th, and the films from the program will be screened at the 1st UNESCO Busan Inter-City Film Festival, which will be held from May 12th to 14th at
Busan Cinema Center.
