TRAIN TO BUSAN Made 10 Million Admissions

In the summer season in Korea which began in July, two domestic films are making an outstanding performance. The leader of the two is TRAIN TO BUSAN by YEON Sang-ho. Released on July 20th, it received 3.21 million viewers in the first weekend, and hit 8 million mark in the second week. In terms of the accumulated viewers in the 2nd week of release, TRAIN TO BUSAN even beats 10-million-admission films like Ode to My Father (2014), Assassination (2015) and The Thieves (2012).

TRAIN TO BUSAN already has made the record of biggest audience on the first day of release (0.87 million viewers) and the accumulated admissions went beyond 10 million on last weekend making the first 10-million-admission film of 2016.

Operation Chromite is also doing great, beating TRAIN TO BUSAN to the 2nd place in the 2nd week of release. Released on July 27th, it attracted 1.79 million viewers on the first weekend, and is going steady, with 3 million accumulated viewers within just 6 days. The phase is still picking up in the 2nd week and is about to reach 4 million viewers anytime now.

Further performance of these two films will depend on that of other films in line-up, including The Last Princess (released on August 3rd), Run off (released on August 10th) and Tunnel (released on August 10th) and foreign films including Suicide Squad (released on August 3rd).
