N.E.W. and TAEWON ENTERTAINMENT to Collaborate for a Korean Version of CRIMINAL MIND, an American TV series

N.E.W., a film distributor to generate the Descendants of the Sun craze throughout Asia, and TAEWON ENTERTAINMENT, a film and TV drama production company whose work list includes TV drama Iris, are collaborating to make a Korean version of Criminal Mind, a popular American TV series.

N.E.W. and TAEWON ENTERTAINMENT have announced the plan to remake Criminal Mind, along with ABC Studio who is the copyrights holder to this original TV drama, and Disney Media Distribution. These four companies are to collaborate throughout the Korean remake project, from casting to production. N.E.W. and TAEWON ENTERTAINMENT will conduct distribution in Korea, Japan and China; and Disney Media Distribution is in charge of distribution to the rest of the world.

It is the first time that Criminal Mind is ever being remade. Korean version of Criminal Mind is producing the first season, having a series in mind. For the first season, as it is a very popular series with a big fandom, fans are also invited in the production. The two production companies will conduct a survey on preferred episodes, and hold a synopsis contest, to incorporate the ideas of the audience in the production of Season 1.
