  • CJ CGV Picked 2015 Korea Brand Award Presidential Prize

    CJ CGV won the Presidential Prize at 2015 Korea Brand Award. The Korea Brand Award is a government-sponsored award that honors enterprises and institutions that develop powerful brands and contribute to national economy. The award proceeds judgement gathering two groups of candidates in the public announcement and question investigation. It eventually gives awards to six brands.
     
    CJ CGV received the Presidential Prize at the Korea Brand Award on November 24th and expressed “We appealed our values of complex cultural space Cultureplex.” Cultureplex is a concept of multiple space combining spectacles, entertainment and dinning in theaters. Business is rapidly expanding from CGV CHEONGDAM CINECITY launching in 2011 to CGV Yeouido, CGV Youngdoungpo and much more.
     
    “We particularly tried various attempts reflecting cultural trend this year.” said CGV on a statement. It includes the first film special library CGV Myungdong Cine Library, the world’s first theater with reclining beds Tempur Cinema and Daehakro Culture Cinema. These are results of its high-quality of screens, sound and seats as well as diversification strategy of theater targeting audiences’ lifestyle. CGV explained “We are focusing on technological evolution and customer service improvement to deliver our value of Cultureplex.”
     
    Meanwhile, CGV announced “We will seek 10,000 screens worldwide by 2020,” while they are endeavoring to make its brand globalization and futurization. It is expected to secure 2,033 screens in the country within this year. It has 967 screens abroad like China, USA, Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar. Also, the company carries cinema business of the future to expand its 4DX in China and USA, and releases many-sided ScreenX and hemisphere-shaped SphereX.
