  • DMZ Docs Crossing Borders 2012
     
     
    To expand foreign exposure and industrial competitiveness of Korean documentaries that have been rising for the past few years, project market, ‘Crossing Borders 2012’ which incorporates workshops for documentary filmmakers and producers and a pitching program will take place during the DMZ Docs festival period. With the objective of promoting exchange and improve industrial viability of European and Asian documentaries, the European Documentary Network, EDN and the Documentary Campus, DC which specializes in documentary education has been presenting ‘Crossing Borders’ since 2010.
     
    The first edition was held in China and the second in Malaysia. The 3rd edition of ‘Crossing Borders’ will take place during the DMZ Docs this year in collaboration with the Broadcasting Content Promotion Foundation(BCPF) and the Goyang Industry Promotion Agency(GIPA).
    Through ‘Crossing Borders 2012,’ the DMZ docs strives to assist in raising foreign exposure for local documentaries as well as attract domestic and international funding, and establish an independent international documentary network to launch its own ‘DMZ Docs Project Market.’
     
     
     
      
    Crossing Boarders Workshop: This is a workshop for filmmakers of 15 selected domestic and international documentary projects which consists of lectures on the documentary global market and funding, and international co-productions along with group discussions and mentoring sessions.
       
     
     
     
    Crossing Boarders Pitching: This is a pitching event where workshop-attended projects have the opportunity to present their projects to 13 local and international decision makers who are responsible for TV programming and acquisitions. A one-on-one meeting between project filmmakers and commission editors will take a place after the pitching event.
