Wan-ju (PARK Jong-hwan), a former stage actor, is currently working at a detective agency run by a friend of his, having given up his dream. One day he is offered to make a false witness statement for a murder case. Wan-ju hesitates but finally accepts the offer, as he has to pay his mother’s medical bill. However, finding out that the alleged suspect is the son of the family running his regular sashimi restaurant, and that his false witness may destroy somebody’s life, Wan-ju struggles to undo his statement.

The Boys Who Cried Wolf is a film about those liars in the world, those boys who keep crying wolf. Among them, Wan-ju is one of the few who give up on lies and struggle to restore the truth, but it is hard to tell the truth from the false. The Boys Who Cried Wolf is the film debut of KIM Jin-hwang, produced by the 8th edition of feature film directing program of Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA). It made great news at the 20th Busan International Film Festival last year, receiving the Best Director prize awarded by the Directors Guild of Korea, and has been invited to the Beijing International Film Festival and New York Asian Film Festival.
