LEE Byung-hun, YOO Ah-in and HAN Hyo-joo Take Top Star Awards

Korea Film Actors’ Association Hands Out 2015 Prizes
 
 
The Korea Film Actors’ Association held its 2015 awards at the Grand Hyatt Seoul on Tuesday, December 29th. This year’s Top Star Awards recipients were LEE Byung-hun, who recently staged a comeback when his political thriller Inside Men became an unexpected hit, YOO Ah-in, who portrayed the villain and the prince in Veteran and The Throne respectively to great acclaim, and HAN Hyo-joo, the lead in the high concept drama The Beauty Inside.
 
The recipients for Korea’s Most Popular Star awards were TV celebrities KIM Soo-hyun, who is about to begin shooting his new film Real, and CHU Ja-hyeon, while the Popular Movie Star awards went to BYUN Yo-han (Socialphobia), CHOI Woo-shik (Set Me Free), LEE Yoo-young (The Treacherous) and PARK So-dam (The Priests).
 
The Throne director LEE Joon-ik was also recognized during the evening, receiving the Best Director prize, while LEE Byoung-heon, the filmmaker behind youth comedy Twenty, took home the Next New Director award. In addition, the Martial Arts Director prize went to JUNG Doo-hong, responsible for the action choreography of Veteran, and AHN Sung-ki took home the Achievement Award.
 
The ceremony was hosted by actors SHIN Hyun-joon and LEE Da-hee while awards were handed out by last year’s director winners KIM Han-min (Roaring Currents) and YANG Woo-suk (The Attorney), as well as director KIM Hak-soon (Northern Limit Line) and actors IM Si-wan (The Attorney) and KANG Ha-neul (Twenty).
